Blank Canvas Profile

This image is part of the Blank Canvas Profile set in the Mixed Media Blank Canvas Collection #1 from SCACD.  I created the image background using acrylic paints on black cardstock.  Once it was dry I stamped the image with versamark and white ink then embossed with white embossing powder.  Think of how many color combinations you can do.  Or, even the reverse of this one ....

Enjoy creating with such amazing images.  The Mixed Media Blank Canvas Collection #2 was recently released and being able to use both sets gives a TON of versatility.  Check them all out!

SCACD MIXED RELEASE

Welcome, welcome!  Have you been hopping along for the SCACD release?  I certainly hope so.  If not, you should, there are some amazing things to see!

If you are hopping you will have just come from Kathi's BLOG.

I have two different items to share with you today.  The first uses the Blank Canvas Woman of Essence and two of the brand new Dies by SCACD.

The dies used are the Dandelion Knoll (trimmed a bit) and the Contempo Compass

Next up is an art journal spread using the Blank Canvas Woman Leap of Faith.

After creating a background with Dylusions Sprays, I stamped the Blank Canvas Woman Leap of Faith directly on the right side.

The flames surrounding the negative words were created using the Crafters Workshop Stencil FLAMES designed by Victoria Case.  The top of the pages I stamped with the lightening image from the Natures Direction Set with glue and then sprinkled with silver glitter.

I used the WORDS SETS from the prior Mixed Media collection.  In addition I hand wrote in several more that are important to me personally.  I then decided I needed the silhouette to be more prominent so stamped her on some patterned paper with words of love and friendship printed on it, fussy cut it and adhered it.

Your next stop on the hop is a Kim Dellow's BLOG.  Be sure to leave her some love while you are there.

The SCACD Stamps are available now- HERE and NEW Dies by SCACD are available now HERE in the USA and for our International Friends Quixotic Paperie has the SCACD Stamps- HERE and the Dies by SCACD-HERE!!!

Blank Canvas Torso ATC

I have love this die set from Dies by SCACD since it was first released.  It is called Blank Canvas Torso and Charm.  I cut the torso twice.  Once from black cardstock and a second time from red velvet paper by SEI.  I trimmed the red velvet and put them together as you see here.  The smaller torsos are the charm die that comes in this set.  The background is created using paper from the Theresa Collins Now and Then paper pack.  I used the Tim Holtz Honeycomb embossing folder and then rubbed with ink and the edges distressed.

Me and My Lil' Buddy

I have been really enjoying the most recent release of the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Sets #3 and #4.  Having two teenage boys, it has been great fun to make cards that even they think or cool.  I also love that there are no color 'rules' when it comes to all of these monsters.  I can play with color and sparkle and shine to my heart's content!

This wonderful image is called Me and My Lil' Buddy.  It would make a great card for Father's Day, but I really love a 'just because' card using the sentiment that comes with it.

The papers are from Prima and those fabulous wooden hearts are part of the veneers from Studio Calico.  Be certain to see what current collections are available as SCACD always has something fabulous!

The Thinker

This image from The Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set #3 is very aptly named The Thinker.  The sentiment used here "You're one in a million" comes with the image.  Great for making cards for kids, friends or just because.  I made this one more 'boyish' since that is what my house is filled with so I have great inspiration available.  The papers are from  Bo Bunny.  This particular one is out of stock, but SCACD has a great selection including a bunch of new papers.

This card is headed to the box for Operation Write Home. I used on of their sketches for design inspiration as well.  Operation Write Home Sketch #161
