31 Days of Halloween - Day 31

I am so sad.  Today should be the happiest day of the year for me because it is HALLOWEEN, but instead I am here thinking it is my last day of blog hosting with all you lovely people.  caw, caw...... : -(.  I am very happy that Alex decided for her final 31 Days creation she would feature ME.

The great thing about this is she could also accomidate her other wish for the final day and use a Smeared Ink image since this is all put on by the Smeared and Smudged Forum.  Alex tells me it is a wonderful place to hang out filled with super nice and creative people.  Yep, no animals allowed, well except for the Dragon, but how can you say no to a dragon?

This tag has the Raven image from the Quoth the Raven set.  The background is a combination of Glimmer Mist with a screen and distress inks.  The gauze is actually some of the Magic Mesh linen weave in white and then inked up with a combination of distress inks and copics.

Challenges:
Crafting When We Can- Halloween or anything but a card
Scrappy Frogs - Something that Flies

I really hope you have all enjoyed the 31 Days of Halloween.  Perhaps you have even found a couple of blogs you want to check on periodically to see what they have cooked up.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 30

Almost done, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!  Alex couldn't let it end without at least one more tag.  Even better, she found a challenge and tried a new technique!!!

This is done with a technique from Tim Holtz (Alex says he is THE MAN, but whatever, I just think he is some dude who likes to get inky too and she REALLY wants his play room ).  The technique is called "Perfect Distress" and you can see Tim Holtz demonstrate it here

Much to her dismay, Alex realized that she did not own any Perfect Pearls. GASP! I KNOW!!!  Fortunately she has some pretty amazing friends who do and let her use them.

This tag is all about the technique and the bats. Alex just knew the bats would look great all shimmery. They really do. Here is a better picture of the shimmer.

I know, even I have to admit it is pretty fabulous. The other thing is that the shimmer is not rubbing off so my feathers, and dignity, are safe!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 29

Day 29- only a couple of days left.  It looks like Alex is going to actually pull this off again this year, but I don't think she can make all the other things she was thinking.  I know from all the mumbling and muttering that there are many more ideas in her head waiting to be reality.  I don't think Halloween is going to be over for Alex after the 31st.

Alex was working to get this Halloween Fairy finished for the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog as part of the DT, but her brain just isn't so great at those time zone things and she missed it. However, no reason not to still share it here and tell you about the challenge...

The fairy has the hair Alex wanted in high school.  I mean REALLY wanted.  Alex wanted to have 'Berlin hair' more than anything, but wasn't allowed.  Looks pretty rockin' on the Halloween Fairy though doesn't it?

This is also for the Simply Betty Stamps 12 Days of Halloween challenge for day 7 - Seven Pumpkins Glowing.  I know, there are 8, but Alex said it was ok, as long as there were at least 7.  She and I had a lengthy discussion about this, but since I am looking at 'the cage' in a couple days I decided not to push too hard.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 28 - SCACD NEW RELEASE!!!

TODAY is THE DAY! What day you ask? Well it is the day of the SCACD New Release! I am super excited to share these with you. At first I was a bit nervous when I heard Alex cackling giggling while creating.    Now I have seen them, however, I understand why.

If you have been hopping along for the release, you should have come from Elaine's BLOG.  If you are here for the 31 Days of Halloween, trust me, this IS the post you are looking for (you caught the Star Wars reference right?).  You might want to join the SCACD release hop too to see some more amazing creations.  The full list can be found on the store blog here.

First  up is a card created using the one of the new Street View stamps.  This one is called Couture Avenue.  Obviously, Alex is not the most refined person you will ever meet.  She actually had to look up Couture in the dictionary.  Not that it did her much good because all she could see when she looked at this image was the stamp store.  Talk about art imitating life....

Yes- that is Viva Decor Pearl Pen in yellow in the flower centers and around the edge.  The Viva Decor Glitter Liner in Hologram was used to make the lamp lights glow.  We wouldn't want anyone getting lost on the way to the stamp store.

Next is Witchy Woman from the Classic Retro Crew.  (told you 31 Day people it was the right place!)

Such a fun, happy and welcoming image that a 'Welcome to the Neighborhood' card just seemed perfect.  The background paper is from the Best Creations Happy Haunting paper pack.  A fabulous pack BTW.

Next thing you know, the cackling started.  Alex decided to decorate the inside of the card as well.  Just to be certain she got her point across.  So much for fun, happy and welcoming.....

Poor Victoria Case who drew these images exclusively for SCACD is probably horrified.  I hope she forgives Alex.  If not, it wasn't my idea so don't hate the messenger.

Now- hop along to Kim's BLOG to see what amazing thing she has created with this release.

Just a reminder to all our international friends can purchase these fab stamps at Quixotic Paperie

31 Days of Halloween - Day 27

Welcome, welcome!  So lovely to have you join me again today!  I am getting a bit concerned about Alex.  She has been working on tomorrow's items and there is much giggling and cackling coming from the crap craft area.  I am almost scared to see what she has for us.  However, today's is great fun!

This tag has one of the super fun Grumpies from Smeared Ink.  The Grumpies always make Alex laugh.  This little guy is the Frankenstein Grumpie from the Creepy Li'l Grumpies set.  The set comes with all these fun sentiments too.

Some days don't you just want to look at someone and actually SAY that?  There are plenty of others to chose from as well and Alex tells me they are just as entertaining.  If the giggling is any indication, they certainly must be.

Be certain you come by tomorrow to see what Alex has cooked up for the New Release showcase for SCACD.  I can only imagine what her twisted mind has done with all the strange sounds I am hearing.  Until then, she asked me to remind you, (I'm doing it, I'm doing ii, CAW!!!) to check out the sneak peeks and enter for the blog candy HERE.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 24

Good Monday morning!!  WAIT- don't you throw something at me too!  Alex already did that.  Apparently Monday mornings are not good.  Who knew?  Especially when I get to start me day sharing this wonderful tag with all of you!

The image on this tag is a stamp called Haunted House by Memory Box.   Alex played with inks and a sponge to create the scene around it.  She is really into playing with that stuff right now.  You all are probably bored out of your minds, but I just can't get her away from them.  Honestly, I haven't been trying too hard.  When she is playing with them she smiles and doesn't throw anything at me.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 23

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me,...

Not really, but when I saw what Alex had for us today I couldn't help but break out in song and really, if it is going to be anyone's imaginary birthday, it will be mine.  (presents you know)

This is a birthday card created using a sentiment stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps and Jack Skellington from Simply Betty Stamps.  The wonderful background paper is from the Echo Park Apothecary Emporium.  Just a bit of fun in black and white, well and technically grey.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 22

I am so very sad.  There are only 9 more days in this lovely month of Halloween.  I so enjoy being out of my cage more often.  Perhaps if I behave well Alex will let me out more.  Who am I kidding?  I can't behave well for 9 whole days in a row!

How about we move on to today's Halloween offering from Alex?  Once again, silly girl went cute.
I will forgive her this time thought because it is the wonderful Witch Betty from Simply Betty Stamps. SOME cute is allowed, just not 100% of the time.  She is also still on my good side because of yesterday's creation, CAW!

Now you all probably think Alex was super tricky and did the paper piecing thing.  Nope, she just colored the outfit to match the paper.  Ok, even I will admit that was almost a tricky thing, just now as tricky.  That fun background paper is from the Best Creations Happy Haunting paper pack.  I am going to be so sad when Alex runs out her Halloween papers......

Sorry, had to pick myself up off the floor from laughing.  I crack myself up, like Alex could EVER run out of any kind of papers, let alone Halloween!  Hee, hee!!  Speeking of paper, as we are, don't forget to enter for the BLOG Candy here I get to give away.

31 Days of Halloween - Day 20

More BLOG CANDY - Caw Caw!!  Yes, really, I have one more BLOG CANDY and today is the day!!  First, the creation for today.

This little guy is one of my favorite images and one of Alex's as well. His name is Spyder and he is drawn by Victoria Case exclusively for SCACD.

He is such a cute little goth boy.  The papers are from the Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows paper collection.  Love the fun words on the paper.

Speaking of FABULOUS paper, look what I get to give away!!!

This paper pack is donated by Susana at SCACD and you can get some wonderful holiday papers right now at SCACD ON SALE!

Ok- so now you are saying to yourself  "Edgar, tell us how to win!"  You got it!   I will pick a random comment from the blog, but there is a bit of catch.  For your comment to count in the draw,  you need to also put what your FAVORITE stamp from the SCACD exclusive lines is.  Any of the ones you fine HERE.  Alex's is Spyder, which one is yours?

31 Days of Halloween - Day 19

Welcome, welcome!  Alex is feeling a bit peaked today, but I managed to grab a creation from her hands last night and so have something to share.
This isn't super elaborate or creative.  I think that Alex is getting close to being 'locked up' so some down time is perhaps in order.  She keeps saying 'yes, but WHEN?' and basically, I fly away because she is talking to herself anyway ......

This is one of the new images drawn by Elaine Cox for Sweet Pea Stamps.  Her name is Wendi.

You can't see it, but there is just a touch of shimmer on the dress and hat from some Spica pens.  The background paper is part of the Memory Box Nightfall collection which has a really gorgeous collection of fall papers.

I hope you enjoy this break from the creepy and ooky and enjoy the pretty.  See you tomorrow!

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 18

Wow - this month is flying by - get it, flying, caw, caw!!!  Seriously though, Alex created something wonderfully creepy once again for Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge.

This week the challenge is to be inspired by Guillermo del Toro. Alex thought with it being Halloween and the Vampire craze, etc., etc. that Blade 2 would get lots of taker so went with what she thinks is just one of the oddest of oddities ever, the hand eye thing from Pan's Labyrinth.  Turns out, more of the Dolls are freaky than even they realized, LOL!.
Alex had a fabulous plan for this originally.  She has this great eyeball stamp by Inkadinkado.  She went looking for a hand and found one online she printed out.  When she went to put it all together she found that hand was not nearly large enough for the eyeball.  So, she decided it was time to 'punt'.  I wish she could have seen the grin while she created.  One of these days that girl needs to just let loose with scissors, paper, ink and see what happens!  Anyway, she traced her own hand (think turkeys for Thanksgiving in grade school), cut it out, inked it up and placed the colored, glimmer misted, diamond glazed eyeball right in the center.  The background is one she used another Inkadinkado corner image on.  Why that image, because she likes it and wanted to.  Then she grabbed some different colored inks and 'mucked up' the cardstock before placing the 'eye hand' front and center.

I wonder what everyone else who enters this challenge will come up with?  Personally, I am just a bit creeped out!

Alex also is currently, it is only the first day so ...., participating in the Simply Betty Stamps 12 Days of Halloween challenge. What makes this one a bit different from the 31 Days of Halloween, is that there are specific challenges each day.  Here is her entry for Day 1.  Yep- she got a bit stickles happy.  What is a bird to do.  Just glad she got the owl and not me!

Day 1 is:
One the first day of Halloween
my true love gave to me
and owl in a rotten oak tree....

Happy Halloween

31 Days of Halloween - Day 17

Hello ladies and gentlemen.  I hope you will be patient with me today as I fill in for Edgar.  He is currently in time out disposed.  Alex has provided me, Cari-On Inaba with two items to share today.  The first is a wonderful fairy created with a Make-It-Crafty stamp from SCACD.  The papers used are from the Kaisercraft Gypsy Sister collection.

Isn't it just lovely?  Her name is Vixie.  There are several other wonderful stamps available including some great Halloween ones!  Speaking of Halloween....
Since that is why many of you are here, although Edgar says you come for him cocky bugger.  Here is the latest Halloween item Alex has created for me to share with you.  This is a lovely tag using a stamp from Another Stamp Company.  She loved the image the minute she saw it and had it popped in the shopping cart lickity split.
Can you blame her?  Isn't it lovely?  All of the coloring on the tag was done with distress inks.

Hope to see you back tomorrow.  I also hope that Edgar will have behaved enough to be here.  He has much practice to do on his dancing as well if he hopes to make the cut on Dancing With Scars.  Make the cut... you get it?  tee hee hee.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 16

Yesterday, Alex had a good friend participate in her first race, a 10k.  Alex was so excited to go cheer her on and had a wonderful time.  The good news is that Alex spent so much time 'wooooooooo hoooooooooo'ing' that now she is very quite, hee hee!

She did get something prepared for you to see today however.  I think you will like it, I know that I think it is pretty awesome looking, even if simple.

She created a tag for you today.  You know how Alex loves to make tags!  She had grabbed some Glimmer Mist and a new stencil from Crafters Workshop called Branches Reversed.  Alex has been just itching to use this stencil.  The thing I find most comical though is that this particular tag is the one she smooshed onto the stencil to grab the ink on it after she used it.  She just loved the way it pooled around the branches.

Alex stamped a gate on the bottom and a cute witch on a broom in the sky. After inking the edges I was able to convince her to leave it alone and let that tree take center stage.

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 15

It is my FAVORITE day - it is BLOG CANDY DAY!  Alex says I have to share the crap she makes good stuff first though so here we go.

Alex was shopping in September and found a chipboard with hat, undecorated of course.  She grabbed it so fast her hands were a blur, thinking only of 31 Days of Halloween.  Before leaving the store, she also grabbed a couple of sheets or red glitter paper, the ideas were already brewing.

The first thing Alex did was paint the witch hat black.  The Dorothy shoes are made using the red glitter paper and the pattern found here.  The designs on the hat are stamped on using white Staz-On.  I know Alex loved making this stuff.  I hope you enjoy seeing it.  Although I have no idea what she is going to do with it now...

Now, for the really exciting news.  Today we have BLOG CANDY.  I get to give away this paper pack Authentique Glowing donated by Susana of SCACD.  Isn't it fabulous!?!??!!!
I will draw at random from the comments left on this post by midnight Monday October 17.  Good luck to you all!

Happy Halloween!

31 Days of Halloween - Day 14

Welcome, welcome!  I hope you have not been waiting for day 14 for long.  Alex went out last night leaving me locked in my cage.  After she got home, she went straight to bed.  Really?!?!  How is a crow to get a post ready for the next day?  HRMPH!

However, I do have something for you that I think you will enjoy.  It is quite ghastly, so your kitty cats might be too wimpy to handle it.  Just a word of warning.  (I was just informed by Alex's son that it is actually 15 words of warning.)

This lovely lady is an image from Delicious Doodles called I'm Ba-aack.  The creation was made for the Delicious Doodles challenge the next two weeks.  It is to create some thing Halloween, but no color orange can be used.

yep- having her show up at my door to say hello would not make me comfortable.  I think there would be some flying away involved.  I would threaten to peck her eyes out, but don't think she would care a whole lot or be slowed down.  Staying out of reach would be the safest.  Now, here is hoping Alex doesn't leave me locked up in that cage.

See you tomorrow and I am excited about it.  I will have some blog candy to give away!  CAW!!! CAW!!!

Happy Halloween

31 Days of Halloween Day 13

Good Day!!!!  So happy to see you visiting me again.  I know that Alex's creations are fun, but have no doubt that if she hadn't let me host, you would probably not come by so often.  I tell her that and she just throws something at me when I do.  However, I'm not sure if it is because of what I am saying, or that I am walking on her table of craftiness.

Alex has a new Halloween card she created using an image drawn by Terra Bidlespacher for Sweet Pea Stamps.  The name of the image is Halloween.

After stamping and coloring the image, Alex tore the edges and then used a couple different distress inks on them. She was going for a burnt paper look. Not quite the same as fire, but the last time she used actual fire to do a burnt edge, it required an insurance adjuster and contractors. Yeah- THAT is a story.  The background paper is part of the MME Mischievous paper pack.
Do you see that fun pumpkin in the corner?  That has a story and I have to tell you.  Alex made that!  Yes, really.  She used that fabulous Viva Decor Crystal Gel from SCACD.  She has the orange gold color which didn't need any painting this time.  However, she did distress it a bit with some of the metallic rub-ons from SCACD.  The mold she used is by 1st Impressions.  These make it really easy because they are super flexible.  When the Crystal Gel is dry, they just pop right out!  She plays with this a lot.  There are all kinds of molded shapes around here just waiting to be put on something.

I hope your day is fabulous.  Alex has been spending a lot of time checking out the other Wicked Bloggers participating in the 31 Days of Halloween.  I hope you are as well.  There is a lot of variety and creativity.  You can't help but be inspired.

Happy Halloween!
Edgar
