Hey Birdy

This is another of the adorable PEEKERS from SCACD called Hey Birdy.  I have seen several adorable samples by the DT you really should see.

I used patterned paper from one of my many 6x6 paper packs - love these for making cards!- and the background is created using cardstock with the Couture Creations Embossing folder - Entangle.  I love the 5x7 size.  It can be the entire base of a standard card size and I don't have to worry about centering it correctly.  Rub the design with a little ink and TA DA!  The image and frame were cut with my nesties.  The flowers (on sale!!) are by Petaloo and some of my favorite to use on, well, everything!  Now, I am going to go pretend it is Spring weather outside.

Some Easter Fun

There is a challenge at Sweet Pea Stamps to use the wrappers from your Easter Candy in creating a card. This got my brain working in overdrive and was FUN!

As you can see, I used the wrappers from the pastel wrapped Hershey Miniatures all cut up and created a mosaic background.  The image is by Elaine Cox  on Plate #52 called Flower Tail Mermaid.  It is beautiful anytime, but the bunny just make it perfect for Easter to me.

Waiting For...

The new Peekers drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD are so fun.  I am sharing my very favorite of them all with you today.  This is Waiting For....

I imagine all the things she could be waiting for while peeking out that window.  Daddy to come home, Grandma and Grandpa to arrive, the new baby brother or sister, all sorts of wonderful happy things!

I used some of the Webster's Pages paper pack and incorporate the beautiful butterflies in the design.  This paper is great because it is double sided and I like both sides!  They also coordinate well together.  After layering everything up, I used my Sew Easy to add some accents on the bottom and top side of the card.  Then I aged it all a bit with some brown ink.

Challenges:
Truly Scrumptious #55 - Vintage
Flutter By Wednesday #151- anything goes with a butterfly, fairy or angel
Tip Top Tuesday #30 - Open
Pink Paper Paradise- Make It Monday #33
Corrosive Challenge #121- Home Sweet Home
Lets Ink It Up #13 - use rubber or clear stamp- no digis
Pile It On #16 - use a rubber stamp

Love is...

A girl and her horse, or in this case, a Princess and her unicorn.

The challenge at Fairy Knoll currently is to make something with the theme of Love or Faith.  I know mine is not the first thing that comes to mind when a person thinks of love, but after seeing some old pictures recently of my childhood best friend and her horse it just seemed fitting.  The image of Aislan and Diamond is an 'oldie but goodie' and fun to work with.  Hope you get a chance to play along at Fairy Knoll.  Link your entry HERE for a chance to win an image from Fairy Knoll!

Moonlight Hijinks

Moonlight Hijinks is one of the new images by Terra Bidlespacher on Plate #136.

I decided not to look at the artist's version and ended up with very different colors. The minute I saw this sweetie I just knew she needed to be a red head. The sky and ground are colored with distress inks and a sponge while everything else was colored with alcohol based markers.

Challenges:
Midnight Madness #99 - Sketch
Paper Play #11- Photo Inspiration
Dream Valley #4 - Things with Wings
Make It Colorful #14 - Coloring skies

Smeared and Smudged April Member Hop

Hello my lovelies!  I am so excited that Alex has allowed me to visit with you again today!  Things here have been a bit touch and go for me due to a recent addition to the family.  At the moment, as you can see, Tinker and I seem to have a truce in place.  It might take me just a bit longer to get her pecked into submission won over.

In the meantime, distance seems to be a good thing...  Now, on the creating that has been happening around here.  The challenge for the hop this month for Smeared and Smudged forum members is to use metal, and brads and eyelets don't count.  Alex decided to use foil stickers and gold metalic paint.  I think she is stretching things brilliant.

Here is a fabulous tag with a rather regal and somewhat Egyptian looking raven, check out the eye.  The tag was decorated with the Glimmer Mist that had accumulated on a screen and then smooshed onto this particular tag- waste not, want not. (even though the google eyes got thrown away!)  The words "i'm watching you" are from the Li'l Grumpies stamp set at Smeared Ink.  That amazing crown is some Maya Road Chipboard painted with a gold paint pen.

It has been lovely visiting with you again.  Perhaps we can talk Alex into letting me out a bit more often.  I have been feeling a bit, what's the word.... caged, ROFLOL!!!

Be certain to check out all the fabulous creations from the other members of Smeared and Smudged hopping this month.

The Sugar Bowl with Goth Girl

The Sugar Bowl has challenges and I love to play in them, but lately haven't taken the time to do so.  This week, however, I pulled out Goth Girl and got busy creating!  They have a sketch as the challenge with an additional challenge to use purple and green.

The paper is Kaisercraft.  The edging is this amazing lace with pearls in it I received as part of a RAK.  I have had the most difficult time actually using it because it is so pretty, but no hesitation whatsoever on this creation.  It just fit perfectly!

The PEEKERS Are Here!!

The PEEKERS drawn by Elisabeth Bell exclusively for SCACD are here and available to purchase TODAY!  Just buy the entire sheet, because once you have one you are going to want them ALL!

There is a new release blog hop happening and I hope that you are checking out all the wonderful creations.  If you came from Dianne's blog then you are on the right track.  If not, you really want to start at the SCACD store blog where you can find the entire list!  There is some amazing talent and serious inspiration on this hop!

Here is my take on Daydreaming Peeker.  I am going to give away my age here, but the first thing I thought of when I saw her was "I had a music box just like that!".  Great memories!

I used the Kaisercraft Tea at Elsie's paper because it just looked so perfect for a little girl.  I used Viva Decor peal pen in the upper left and lower right corners by the image and the glitter liner on her tutu.

Look at those pretty satin ballet shoes!  Gotta love the Smooch

Your next stop on the hop is Colleen, one of our newest DT sisters!  Be sure you leave her some love.

After you see all the fabulous creations, get shopping at SCACD.  While you are there be certain to check out some of the new items in the store in addition to the Peekers.  Just a few of them are Crate Paper packs, mini canvasses, gelatos (no NOT the yummy Italian ices) and more Sew Easy

For those of you in Europe, the SCACD exclusive stamps, including the PEEKERS can be purchased at Quixotic Paperie.

Pixie Dust

I have always thought a bag of Pixie Dust would come in handy.  I can find plenty of regular dust, but never the good Pixie Dust.  A little shimmer, a little shine and being able to fly- fabulous!!!

This image, Pixie Dust, is drawn by Rachel Anderson and is from Sweet Pea Stamps.  I love that her dress looks like flower petals.  I paired her with some Kaisercraft Tea at Elsie's and let the image be the focus.

Sweet Pea Stamps is having FREE SHIPPING in the US right now so it is a great time to add to your (or start) you collection and let your dollars go farther.   Even better- check out everything that is on SALE too!
