The story of the Samoas

Once upon a time, in the land of Two Tumbles, lived a King, his beautiful Queen and two lovely daughters.

Each year, for a short time, the magical Green Fairies would appear throughout the land. The fairies in training, who were dressed in brown until they were old enough to don the magical green, would accompany them. The fairies would bring the most delicious delicacies with them and sell them to the people of the land. Then the people would anxiously await the arrival of the fairies the next year.

The Queen of Two Tumbles was with child and desperately desired one of the Green Fairies’ delicacies named Samoa. The time for the fairies to appear was past and their next visit was not for many months. The King, loving his Queen very much and wanting to please her placed a call throughout the land for anyone who might be able to provide the Queen with the requested delicacy.

There was an Evil Empire in the land that sought to destroy all that was good and honest. This included the Green Fairies. The Evil Empire attempted to do so but creating imitations of some of the Green Fairies’ delicacies that would be available through out the year. The King loved his Queen so dearly he considered visiting the Evil Empire. However, he learned that there were no imitations of the Somoa delicacy sought by the Queen and was saved from entering the darkness.

The King had a sister who had married and become the Duchess of Boy-Z. She heard of his call and put out a call of her own. A friend of the Duchess of Boy-Z, the Lady Red Boots, heard the call. The Lady Red Boots was a defender of justice and prosecutor of evil so knew that she must do what is right. She contacted the Duchess of Boy-Z to tell her she had saved some of the delicacies from the last visit of the Green Fairies including the Samoas requested by the Queen. The Lady Red Boots offered up the Samoas. The only problem was the delicacies were found in Boy-Z not Two Tumbles and needed to be transported to the Queen.

Now, at this time, the Lady Red Boots was accompanied in her fight against wrong by the Lady Valentine. An evil witch named Economy had cursed the Lady Valentine. Economy declared that the Lady Valentine would be separated from her true love, Lord Valentine, and only allowed to see him on the weekends. Having no choice, the Lord and Lady Valentine accepted the curse until they are able to find a way to break it. The Lord Valentine resided in the land of Two Tumbles and so the Lady Valentine traveled every weekend from the land of Boy-Z to the land of Two Tumbles.

Lady Red Boots remembered the curse placed upon Lady Valentine and requested her assistance in transporting the Green Fairies’ Somoa delicacy to the pregnant Queen. Being of pure heart and good nature, the Lady Valentine readily agreed to do so. She took the Somoas from the Lady Red Boots and placed them in her carriage for the trip to Two Tumbles. Upon arrival in Two Tumbles, she went immediately to the King and delivered the much sought after Somoas.

The Queen was ecstatic and this pleased the King greatly. He issued a proclamation that the Ladies Red Boots and Valentine from the land of Boy-Z were most brave and true and forever welcome in Two Tumbles.

And they lived happily ever after.

Emma- with flowers

This stamp is one of the exclusive lines at Susana's Custom Art & Card Design and is by Elisabeth Bell. Funny story, I think this little girl looks very much like my niece Janika. The only reason I don't call her that when I am coloring her is because Emma was my Grandmother's name so pretty easy for me to remember.

In the stamped image Emma's basket actually contains a kitten. I wanted her carrying flowers, however, and so- Flower Soft to the rescue! I also love the Dazzlers that Susana carries. You absolutely must try them. If you like bling at all, you will be hooked!

Try It Out Tuesday

Tuesdays on the store blog for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design (SCACD) the Design Team does a Try It Out Tuesday (TIOT). This week, as the spotlighter, I got to play along!!!

The project was to alter/create a notebook. The minute I heard it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I created a coloring notebook for my niece with the wonderful exclusive images I have from Susana's store.

I stamped an assortment of images by Victoria Case, Elisabeth Bell and Anki.

I cut chipboard covers and covered and decorated them with Basic Grey and one of the images. Then I bound it all together. I hope you enjoy it. I had a wonderful time creating it, and I think my niece with love it!

FUNSANSA! with Young Alexa

I have been asked to Spotlight Design this week for one of my very, very, VERY favorite places to shop Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. She has several EXCLUSIVE to her store stamp lines. One of them includes this stamp of Young Alexa designed by Elisabeth Bell. She just melts my heartstrings. Is there anything better than a child with a book? I can't think of much.

I am really looking forward to sharing several of the stamps and other items this week that available at Susana's store. You will never find customer service as fantastic as she provides anywhere. Susana is AMAZING. I swear that woman packs orders in her sleep just to be sure they are timely! Be sure and show her some love!

Join me again tomorrow as I participate in the Design Team's -Try It Out Tuesday. I am super excited about the project I have in store for you! See what the Design Team has done at the store blog.

Sharing more creations

The card I created uses the Lady & Fox Mermaid stamp released this month at Queen Kat Designs. I really enjoyed the background portion of the image. I will admit taking a peek at how Maigan Lynn colored the image in her artwork just to be certain I knew what the lines represented. Now that I have actually colored it once though, I have no doubt that I can go crazy next time! I am also feeling the need to expand my mermaid collection to include the others that have background as options such as Lani with background and Lorali with background just to name two.

I also used the Tinkering Ink paper from the 6x6 paper pack with ribbons from Queen Kat Designs. This is a fabulous pack to play with!!

Don't forget YOU can win one of these WONDERFUL mermaid stamps by entering the Verona's Challenge on the WIS blog.

There is a current Design Team call going on for Queen Kat Designs through Sept. 15.

Fairy ATC

I have enjoyed making a few ATCs lately. This one is done with two of the stamp sets from Elemental doodles. It is Forest Fairies and the butterfly is from Mystic Fairy. Once I got the border figured out it all fell into place.

Fluffy

I created this card for a challenge on SCACD's group on Paper Craft Planet. The challenge involved both a sketch and a color challenge. I really had to push myself on this one, but once it started to fall into place it almost created itself. The stamp is one of the Anki's Sweethearts exclusive to Susana's store.
